A day of shopping, eating on the promenade, visiting a museum or enjoying a sniff of the grandeur of the 19th century seaside resorts? The area offers plenty. Nice, is after Paris, the 2nd museum-city of France. Both Nice and Monaco, Toulon and Marseille are easily accessible by car. Do you like watching people strolling on the promenade, while enjoying a drink in the evening? St. Tropez is just 20 minutes drive from the villa. Historical places like Grimaud with his ruin, Gassin with its Moorish origins and the monastery of Our Lady of La Verne near Collobrière, are particularly beautiful. The many coastal towns are definitely on warm summer evenings worth a visit.
Only a 15 to 20 minutes drive from the villa are several sandy beaches. Fancy the mundane Pampelonne Beach with the famous Club 55? Or rather a simple beach where you bring your own beach chair and parasol? Almost all the beaches in the area have a roped off swimming area and a lifeguard. Renting a luxury yacht, sailing yacht or a sailing dinghy? Waterfun is amply available in this area.
The Côte d'Azur is an attractive golf destination. Only a 10 minutes drive from VILLA D'ARNAUD you can contact the 18-hole course, Beauvallon Golf in Grimaud. One of the other top courses in the region includes Golf Saint Endreol in La Motte. In total there are 70 golf courses in the PACA region, of which 15 major courses within a radius of 90 kilometers from the villa. Most of these golf clubs are in unique locations around the Mediterranean. We have put the best ones for you in a row.
Cycling and walking
Near the villa there are several marked hiking trails that lead through beautiful nature. In addition, this area is well suited for mountain biking on the dirt roads. Meanwhile, many D-roads in the region with a separate bike path, so that the - mainly cyclists - make their descents safely. Especially for the more sporty cyclist is an attractive area. One our guests has collected cycling routes in the area.
Just a few miles from VILLA D'ARNAUD the area contains various 'domaines' where you can taste and buy wine. This area is especially known for its fresh rosé wines. Personally, we are very fond of rosé from the vineyards around Gassin, such as Château Minuty. Also the wines of the fields where the villa overlooks, Château St. Maur & Domaine La Giscle, do have a unique spicy flavor. In addition to the rose, the south is also known for its olive oils. Highly recommended are the oils of Nicolas Alziari, which are still pressed with the original mill. If you go a day trip to Nice, we recommend you to take a look at the boutique from the Alziari family on Rue St. Francois de Paule.
What most people do not know is that the Riviera is also a great ski destination. On up to 2 hours drive from Villa d'Arnaud are 3 ski areas, with attractive off-piste opportunities. Unique is that you can ski one day in winter and visit the beach the following day . Ski passess for Isola 2000 or Auron are for a small additional charge valid for both areas. The areas are snow-sure due to their height and they get the first snow from a southerly flow. We have already spent a few pleasant hours in the snow. Also in the winter season you're welcome at VILLA D'ARNAUD.
